Consumer co-operatives have an unwavering commitment to the strengthening of the Internal Market with the aim of improving the quality of life of their consumer-members. Our well-established relations with the European Parliament provide a strong basis to continue our co-operation with the future representatives of the European citizens in the framework of our shared responsibility towards bettering the economic, social, and cultural interests of 30 million European Union citizens who are proud members of consumer co-operatives.
To this aim, Euro Coop deems it essential to work with Members of European Parliament within the next mandate 2019-2024 towards:
- FOOD: Establishing a Common Food Policy;
- SUST: Implementing a truly Circular Economy;
- RETAIL: Fostering a fair retail environment;
- COOP: Attaining Coop-friendly policies for the growth of the co-operative model of enterprise.
The specific policy recommendations in each of the areas are detailed in the Manifesto.
We have a lot of work ahead of us!
