29.09.2023 00:00:00

On the occasion of the 2023 International Day of Awareness on Food Waste and Loss, Euro Coop is proud to launch its publication titled 'Feeding the Future.' This publication highlights the European Union's initiatives and the pledges made by national Consumer Co-ops to tackle food waste.
Food sustains life, yet an alarming paradox prevails on our planet. While 800 million people worldwide go to bed hungry every night, a significant portion of the world's food goes to waste. Food waste and loss have emerged as a global crisis, with far-reaching economic, environmental, and social consequences.
On this International Day of Awareness on Food Waste and Loss, Euro Coop is proud to present its new publication, shedding light on the pressing issue of food waste and showcasing the remarkable initiatives, policies, and success stories of consumer cooperatives across Europe and their positive impact on communities and the environment. By understanding the root causes, consequences, and collaborative solutions, we can work together to create a more sustainable and equitable food system for all. Together, we can ensure that food truly sustains life, leaving no one behind.
