World Cooperative Monitor 2023 Top 300 Ranking Unveiled

The 2023 World Cooperative Monitor (WCM), presented by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) and Euricse, is out now. This edition spotlights the Top 300 cooperatives globally, showcasing their substantial impact and, notably, their dedication to member benefits.

 

This year's ranking emphasizes the crucial role of cooperatives in various sectors, including the leading contributions of Agriculture (105 enterprises) and Insurance (96 enterprises), followed by Wholesale and Retail Trade (57 enterprises).

In the dynamic landscape of wholesale and retail trade, the World Cooperative Monitor 2023 brings to light the impactful contributions of cooperatives, particularly in the retail sector. Top 10 Retail and Wholesale Sector by Turnover in USD:

Among the leading cooperatives globally, our member Coop Italia secures the 8th position with a noteworthy 2021 turnover of 16.91 Billion US$ and an impressive workforce of 55,592 employees. Following closely, the Co-operative Group Limited holds the 9th spot, reporting a 2021 turnover of 15.34 Billion US$ and employing 6,644 individuals.
