Douwe Snel Appointed as New CFO of PLUS

PLUS, a prominent player in the Dutch retail sector, has appointed Douwe Snel as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective May 13. Douwe Snel will also join the statutory board of directors, adding depth to the company's executive leadership team.
Harry Bruijniks, Chairman of PLUS's supervisory board, expressed satisfaction with Douwe's appointment, noting his extensive experience in the food retail industry. "We welcome Douwe to our executive team," stated Bruijniks. "His background encompasses various crucial areas such as finance, entrepreneurship, real estate, and ICT. We believe Douwe's collaborative approach and leadership style will be beneficial as we navigate future challenges."
Douwe Snel brings considerable experience gained over his career. He began his corporate finance journey at Kempen & Co before assuming financial roles at Asilia Africa. His tenure at Jumbo included positions as Manager of Business Control and later as Director of Franchise & Real Estate and M&A. Notably, Douwe served as CFO during the acquisition of EMTÉ by Coop and Jumbo. In recent years, he held the position of CFO at PlantLab, overseeing finance, ICT, and HR functions.
The addition of Douwe Snel completes PLUS's statutory board of directors, joining Aart van Haren as CEO and Fred Bosch as Director of Coop & Business Support. Together, they form a team poised to lead PLUS into its next development phase.
Douwe Snel's appointment reflects PLUS's commitment to strengthening its leadership team with experienced professionals. With his proven track record and strategic insight, Douwe is expected to contribute to PLUS's financial strategy and its competitive position in the retail market.
