Coop Italy launched #CoopforAfrica campaign

With #CoopforAfrica, the fundraising campaign promoted by Coop Italy to encourage vaccination against Covid-19 in Africa, over 1 million and 650,000 euros have been donated thanks to which more that 330,000 people will be vaccinated. For this campaign Coop Italy counted on the support of three important humanitarian organisations: the UN Agency for Refugees-UNHCR, the Community of Sant'Egidio and Doctors Without Borders.
Over 760 thousand euros of the total amount have been collected in the 1100 Coop Italy stores, as well as on the dedicated bank account and on the online crowdfunding platform Eppela. Consumer cooperatives donated more than 880.000 euros in total: such an important effort to support the vaccination campaign in a continent with a weak healthcare system.
The UN Refugee Agency-UNHCR, the Community of Sant'Egidio and Doctors Without Borders have already started their activities in Africa to encourage citizens to receive their vaccination.
